About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Management Information Systems website at the College of Business Administration, established on 07/03/1429 AH to align with the college and university vision for developing competencies, research, and innovation in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision. The Department of Management Information Systems seeks in its curricula to provide students with the acquisition of specialized knowledge and science, offering programs such as the Bachelor of Management Information Systems and the unique Business Technology program. These programs aim to cultivate globally competitive citizens in alignment with the Human Capacity Development Program under the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The department's curriculum facilitates a significant shift from knowledge acquisition to practical application in the labor market. Through initiatives like the National Transformation Program, business operations and analysis have seen a noticeable transformation, particularly within the government sector, enhancing technology infrastructure and fostering digital innovation. These advancements have increased sector competition and productivity, improving decision-making processes and operational efficiency.

All of these initiatives were established to streamline processes, improve performance, and ensure high-quality government services for citizens and residents. The rapid growth of business intelligence has underscored the importance of management information systems in analyzing data, automating processes, forecasting market trends, strategic planning, and understanding customer sentiment towards brands and products. Our approach is guided by the university's commitment to continuous enhancement through exceptional faculty, dynamic educational programs, and an innovative learning environment.

Furthermore, the Department of Management Information Systems plans to launch a Master of Business Technology program, adding to the university's offerings and catering to the evolving needs of the industry. The department aims to excel in scientific research, leveraging the expertise of its faculty members. Its programs equip students with a solid foundation in theoretical and technical knowledge essential for successfully navigating the world of management and business.

It also enhances the student’s technical, technological, and leadership skills, enabling him to analyze and design business systems and use modern tools and software to develop and manage them with flexibility and high professionalism. Mission: The Management Information Systems (MIS) program prepares graduates who can keep pace with developments in the knowledge-based work environment through the following:
